Delphi's 2000 bar common rail development for the Multec diesel common rail system

The global market for diesel engines is expected to continue to grow as Common Rail Diesel Systems are the most effective means to achieve more stringent emissions' legislation and improved engine performance. Delphi developed the second generation of high pressure fuel pumps, the DFP3 & DFP4 pump family and further components, to meet this need; offering: (1) 2000bar capability; (2) Robustness against extended endurance and poor fuels; (3) Flexible packaging with high component commonality. The generic development process used aggravated testing and reliability forecasting to shorten the development cycle. This publication will show the potential of this Delphi fuel injection system.
