This paper estimates the accuracy of relationships among strength properties (Rm-tensile strength) and technological ones (Nb-number of bends and Nt-number of bends) of steel wire for rope described in standard PN-EN 10264. It uses new indicators for estimation of wire quality: Wb = Rm/Nb; Wt = Rm/Nt; and W = Wb + Wt. Application of these allows not only for estimation of wire quality and quality of strand and rope made from those wires, but also calculation of rope fatigue strength.
