Biobased Polyolefin Additives

This presentation is geared at introducing some new to the world biobased additive materials for polyolefins. The product has been developed in conjunction with Scout Materials, LLC and is branded SciPro. SciPro is derived from a byproduct of ethanol plant operations. It possesses unique attributes that make it very compatible in polyolefin matrices. Its chemical composition is a mixture of protein, complex carbohydrates and oil. We have investigated the use of this material in various polyolefin matrices and articles including films, sheet and injection molded parts. This paper will describe the performance of SciPro polyolefin composites.
