From the interface thermodynamics point of view, the free-energy model of microemulsion phase change material (PCM) slurry is presented, and the intrinsic relationship between the freezing-melting hysteresis and geometric characteristics of PCM particles is revealed. Taking the bulk density as an example, the effects of diameter distributions and mass concentrations of PCM particles during heating/melting or cooling/solidification process are analyzed. The comparisons between the predicted and experimental results show a better coincidence.
