Generally, the ranging error is a positive value in WSN localization system due to the impact of the Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS). In traditional method, the variance of received signal is imposed to make the identification and mitigation of NLOS error. Taking the random distribution of obstacles into account, this paper presents a localization algorithm for UWB environment based on signal statistics. In the proposed method, the impact factor and scale factor are defined to describe the complex characteristics of the channel and make the ranging more accurate. Simulation results show that the precision of localization can be improved significantly.
