The 500k V double-circuit lines on same tower has some advantages such as small line corridors and large capability, electric field for live-working becomes more complicated because of its compact triple conductors. In this paper, the compact tower is took as the research object, the field strength on body surface at some typical positions during the live working are calculated using finite element method, the distribution characteristic of field strength in different parts of live-workers is analyzed, and the electric field protection measures are determined based on the simulation results. The analysis show that, the largest field strength on body surface of the equipotential workers on the compact tower is 383.69kV/m, their placement appear on the feet, and wear screening clothes with 40 dB screen efficiency can meet safety requirements. The largest field strength on body surface of the ground potential workers on the compact tower is 121.77kV/m, and wear electrostatic shielding clothes can meet safety requirements. The conclusion can provides technique support for the live working safety on the 500kV double-circuit lines on same tower.
