For coal mine in the depth of 1100m, adopting bottoM slicing relieving mining is the effective way when many problems such as roof fragmentation, large deformation of gates surrounding rock encountered in the process of upper seam's mining are to be solved. Research on the rational layout of actual mining roadway, is to ensure a prerequisite for successful ascending mining. On the basis of the detection of the height of overburden leading water fractured zone arising from the lower seam mining and the analysis on the stress-releasing effect of lower seam mining on upper seam, reasonable position of tailentry and headentry of the upper seam and open-off were analyzed by adopting the theory of pressure mines; through the establishment of structural mechanics model of stope, the reasonable-size of the coal pillar section of the upper seam was studied; Finally, through the engineering practice of five face, that the roadway layout of upper coal seam is reasonable was certificated.
