This paper presents a summary of (a) structural analysis methodologies to assess the seismic cracking and sliding responses of concrete gravity dams including transient uplift pressures in cracks, (b) related computer programs, (c) dam strengthening using post-tension anchors, and (d) related experimental validation work. The paper refers principally to research and development work performed at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal (Montreal University, Canada), in recent years.
