Methodologies and Systems for Developing EcoRiskManager a Tool for Managing the Ecosphere of Risk

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is predominately a discrete process. After interviews and hands on experience the project team has concluded two prime issues: Current ERM processes are primarily driven using financial information to determine the level of business risk ignoring the enormous amount of data available regarding many other aspects of the business environment; and Adequate tools do not exist which enable a company to develop a continuous ERM process utilizing readily available information regarding risk factors that might affect expected business outcomes. The paper describes the need for the ERM process to focus first on the company's business initiatives and goals through a process called ERMB (ERM Business) and then describes a vision for developing the tools/databases (EcoRiskManager), using a combination of information fusion, alternate reality gaming and data visualization techniques against readily available data enabling businesses to develop a proactive and continuous approach to the ecosphere of ERM.
