TOPAS~R Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC) is an amorphous, transparent copolymer based on cyclic olefins and linear olefins.. COCs are a relatively new class of polymers having a unique combination of properties which can be customized over a wide range during polymerization and they have good compatibility with most conventional polyolefins. COC is often used in blends with conventional polyolefins to modify key characteristics such as stiffness, HDT, and thermoformability. When blended with LLDPE at a 10% level COC can triple the modulus while maintaining a low haze, and increasing the ultimate seal strength and hot-tack strength . High glass transition temperature (Tg ) COC blends with polyethylene can help maintain modulus up to temperatures approaching the Tg of the COC.
