Service reliability and environmental safety of main pipelines is directly connected with se-curing high quality of large diameter oil and gas line pipes which make a basic part in main pipe-lines. In the system of qualitative characteristics of electric welded pipes, a very important role is attributed to characteristics of the weld joint which is a natural geometrical and structural concentrator of strains and stresses. In this connection, perfection of the weld profile and raise of the weld joint mechanical properties, particularly impact strength is a pressing challenge.
