For a specific weld model material parameters known, the explosive weld process is simulated based on the 3-D numerical simulation technique, and the optimal geometry parameter and performance parameter curve (thickness δ ~density ρ) of the explosive is obtained. The simulation results indicate that for a selected explosive there is a group of optimal weldable parameters which can be used for explosive weld. The numerical simulation method can be used to verify the results of the theoretical calculation, to guide the designing of the weld project and optimize it, to decrease the experiment times, and to save experiment outlay. The rationality and adaptability of the method are proved by comparing the simulation results and the experimental results.
