摘要

This study deals with the friction and wear resistance of three different types of metal/ceramic based composites: (a) stainless steel parts made by micro metal injection molding, sliding against themselves; (b) metal phase reinforced ceramic matric composites, sliding against a ball bearing steel; and (c) ceramic fiber reinforced alumina based ceramic matrix composites. In all three cases, the optimum compositions with regard to wear resistance were elucidated.
