The article mainly discuss about the key technologies involved in curved surface for magnetic abrasive finishing (MAF) deeply. As the complex curved surface is irregular, it is difficult to program. In this article, the difficult problem has been solved by using MAF machine tool that developed by self. The machine tool put the numerical control machining ability, digital scanning, measuring and automatically programming together. The step of scanning and measuring with machining in the same machine tool, and adopting method that machining clearance equal to radius of gauge outfit minus radius of magnetic pole, so the machining clearance can be ensured; in addition, the hysteresis brought up in the machining can be resolved by the notching on the surface of magnetic pole. Finally, through analyzing the effect of the form and curvature radius of working surface to working quality and the efficiency, conclusion can be drown that concave surface is more suitable for finishing by MAF; and with the curvature radius of working surface getting smaller, the machining quality and efficiency will be better as well; The minishing radius and adjusting move speed of the magnetic pole will be one method of improving the no-uniformity phenomena of working quantity.
