Study on High Accuracy Water-cement Ratio Transducer and Its Application

Grouting is one of the most important methods in soil improvement that increases strength and decreases permeability of soil. In this process water-cement ratio is a key parameter. To increase accuracy of water-cement ratio measurement, the authors developed a new transducer with nuclear density transducer. With large full scale range and high accuracy, the water-cement ratio transducer is suitable for almost all types of cement grout with different water-cement ratios. The principle and technical key points are discussed in this paper. In addition, as an example, the application of this new transducer in Langyashan hydroelectric power station with LJ-III auto-recorder is presented.
