Regarding Statistical Relationships for Vertical Accelerations of Planing Monohulls in Head Seas - (PPT)

Peak Positive Values are exponentially distributed; Complete dataset is better characterized by lognormal distribution; Factors based on RMS values may be dependent upon speed and wave period but further investigation is recommended. Other headings can be analyzed due to inclusion of encounter period in dimensional analysis; Simple programs can be used to analyze large datasets. Analysis method presented which removes some issues associated with peak value analysis. More data and analyses are needed.
