Lightweight design results from commitment but only when the level of commitment is high enough. Such commitment kindles the compulsion to find genuinely lightweight and innovative designs. A number of years ago, BMW decide to take a revolutionary new road and build the entire passenger cell from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic.
