The smartphone was just the beginning: the Smart Car, Smart Grid, Smart Factory, Smart Health and Smart Home will shape every aspect of life in the future. It is a question of environmentally friendly energy systems, sustainable mobility, an energy-saving industrial sector with flexible manufacturing, and intelligent assistance for an ageing population.
