Acetic acid lignin-based polyurethane films were prepared by solution casting with acetic acid lignin, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and toluene 2,4diisocyanate (TDI). Thermal properties of the acetic acid lignin-based polyurethane films were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG). By adding acetic acid lignin in the classical polyurethane, the thermal stability of the samples was improved. At the same time, the addition of the lignin hard chain segments increased the rigidity of the samples, TgS and some other thermal values were correspondingly raised. The proper proportion of lignin added in the samples was about 33% in this work, when the polyurethane films had well thermal performances.
