Glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) walls are new building materials at the developing stage. The hollow cores of GFRG panels fully filled with concrete had been tested in Australia and China and used for residential constructions. To reduce material and cost of constructions, the plan of hollow cores of the GFRG walls partially filled with concrete was applied in the walls of low-rise constructions in seismic zone. To provide structural design guidelines for the GFRG walls, the six different GFRG walls partially filled with concrete were designed and tested in different axial load. The GFRG walls partially filled with concrete are called close frame-GFRG walls. This paper presents the results of cyclic shear tests of such walls. Basing on the experimental results, bearing capacity of shear, ductility features, hysteretic characteristics energy dissipation and stiffness degradation of specimens were quantified and discussed. An analysis was carried out in order to evaluate the contribution of GFRG panel and concrete columns in resisting out- side force. It is proven that GFRG walls partially filled with concrete have better earthquake resistance.
