A Study on RFID Data Standardization for Port Logistics Industry

Recently the rapid expansion of RFID technology is not only overcoming the limit of identification but also bringing sweeping changes on many business organizations and industries. In particular, the RFID technology is expected to bring numerous ripple effects on the port logistics industry. The Korean government is currently introducing RFID technology to the port logistics industry by means of various business models. However, these efforts are meeting with difficulties because of the lack of research on practical renovation tasks and standardization. By making a research of many preceding studies as well as fact-finding survey, this paper has generated commonly used data by unit job and suggested a RFID data standardization proposal that can be applicable to the RFID international standard. We expect that from now on this study will make contributions to the establishment of national RFID standard, exalting Korea's status in the RFID market, and playing an important role in the formulation of international standard specifications of many applied fields.
