摘要

Part of the ROSES project, the Spanish trial was carried out to study the feasibility of coupling satellite data (SAR images for the location of oil spills) and AIS data (for the location and identification of the vessels). By combining both of them, it was expected to get a useful tool to identify at the same time the oil spill and the polluter. This trial was made on the 11th May 2004 in the Bay of Biscay, Gijon (Spain). The demonstration was based on two intentional oil spills over simulated with vegetal oil and oil-absorbent bark of Norwegian pine trees. The purpose of this paper is to provide further off-line analysis of the trial and to address perspectives of integration of these different sources of information in GIS: Ship detection and wind analysis by SAR ir processing, comparison with AIS data, Analysis of ARGOS buoys trajectories, con with oil spills models.
