Study on Breeding and Application of Eui Sterile Line K17eA

Eui mutant was obtained from M_2 population of indica rice K17B by radiating directly with ~(60)Co γ ray in 1999. It took two and a half years (six cropping) to breed eui sterile line K17eA through crossing and test crossing between the mutant K17eB and the corresponding sterile line K17A. In 2003 Jiangxi crops varieties identification committee identified K17eA, and several eui hybrid rice combinations were bred by using K17eA as sterile line. Six of those had entered the regional test and five combinations joined the prepare experiment.
