Some techniques for automatically generating topology to generate multi-block structured grids are discussed. The basic topology paradigm of Grid-Pro's robust grid generation engine and its ability to generate high quality multi-block structured grids from a crudely defined set of topology corners and their connectivity is shown. The automatic topology techniques are applied in tandem with GridPro's grid generation engine to get high quality block structured grids automatically. The Cartesian trimming approach is shown to be a good means of generating topology automatically. Examples and illustrations of the application of the Cartesian method to some problems are given. Finally, examples of the application of an automatic recursive adaptive technique called nested refinement, which is applied in the topolog-ical sense, is discussed.
