This paper briefly expands on experiences in the New Police Headquarters project sustainable design as a case study covering elements most of the sub themes. Common sustainable design challenges for most high rise buildings generally fall into the following categories. 1. Urban planning and development 2. Optimising site potential 3. Energy efficiency, renewable energy 4. Environmental friendly materials 5. Construction and waste management 6. Flexibility of internal spaces and its environment 7. Sustainable culture and social responsibility 8. Partnership in the project 9. Post occupancy matters.
