An experimental investigation of oblique impingement jet by a new X-probe rotation method is presented in this paper. In the experiment, the jet issued from a circular convergence nozzle and then impinged onto a plate in different angles. Eight test conditions of various impingement heights and different impingement angle were measured, including three types jet: free jet, attachment jet and impingement jet. A series of data and analyzed results of three-dimensional mean velocity, turbulence level and Reynolds stress were obtained. In order to measure the three-dimensional flow by X-probe, a new measuring and data processing method is put forward. The free jet measurement results show that the new method is highly precise. What's more, convenient rotation device and crossbeam arrangements are designed to realize rotation. It provides beneficial references to engineering use.
