Due to the rapid growth of world economies, there has resulted in a increase in energy demand. Most of energy demand has come from oil that is becoming more "sour" in sulfur content. With large usage of oil, it resulted in the deterioration of the environment. In response, governments are increasingly more stringent regulations on both industrial and mobile sources, it focus to reduce the levels of contaminants, for example, NOx, SOx, VOC, CO and PM. With these new regulations, "sulftir management" has become a challenging task for refineries to operate. In this review section, I will development alternative solution and holistic approach to achieve new regulations that provide an environmentally benign and commercially approach for clean fuel challenges.
