The rapid developments in portable computing platforms, distributed multimedia systems and wireless communication technologies have led to a significant interest in wireless networking and mobile multimedia applications. These incur challenging technological issues like resource allocation, routing, scheduling, etc. The issues become more complex, when there is frequent handoff's and channel condition variations. The channel condition variations and user mobility or frequent handoff's needs a fair scheduler to avoid call droppings. This paper presents a fuzzy-based packet scheduling scheme, where the fuzzy input parameters such as priority, time stamp and flow rate for each packet is considered to produce a scheduling factor. Depending on the value of scheduling factor the packet will be scheduled or unscheduled Simulation results show better throughput and increased scheduling of the packets. The results of the proposed work are compared with priority based scheduler simulated using Qualnet simulator.
