Design approach to circular-shaped cover of detachable spiral heat exchanger

The calculation method for circular-shaped cover is a key of the design of the detachable spiral heat exchanger (DSHE). The conventional design and calculation depends generally on engineering experiences. Based on the analysis of flexural displacement of the circular-shaped cover with a concentric ring or with a concentric ring and topsy-turvy cone, this paper describes the calculation method of displacement and stress in the circular-shaped cover of DSHE, and the RPDP program for the strength and rigidity design of the circular-shaped cover has been worked out in accordance with this method. It is possible to design circular-shaped cover of DSHE according to the given working variables.
