Based on the characteristics of production techniques and the theory of lose control of energy releasing, an investigation on identification, analysis and control of hazard sources in the process system of preparing coal, coking, reclaiming, maintaining and dynamics in a coking plant has been carried out. Many analysis methods such as Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Hazard And Operability Studies (HAZOP) have been used. In the hazard units, index of hazard frequency and degree of hazard severity have been calculated out. Hazard Source management grades have also been confirmed. At last, the hazard control measures in a coking plant have been brought forward.
