In this work, the PP block copolymer (PPB) was selected as basic resin, POE as toughening agent, high density polyethylene (HDPE) as assistant toughening agent, and nano-Montmorillonite (nano-MMT) as reinforcement, to prepare PP/POE/MMT nano-composites. Structures and properties of PP/POE binary blends, PP/POE/HDPE and PP/POE/MMT ternary blends were investigated respectively. The results showed that high toughness and better processability can be obtained when POE content was 15~20 wt% in PP/POE blends. The use of HDPE had obvious effect on synergistic toughening, and the toughness of PP/POE/HDPE was the best in comparison to PP/POE and PP/HDPE blends, because "core-shell" morphology was formed. PP/POE/MMT ternary blends containing 3wt% MMT showed better mechanical properties than the corresponding binary PP/MMT blends.
