Flood prediction systems are mostly not fast enough and do not provide sufficient spatial resolution to cover storm floods on smaller watersheds. These local floods then often surprise unprepared citizens and authorities. Lack of data and time delays during data processing together with lack of information support before and during the floods are the main causes of damage and people injury that could he reduced. This article proposes the solution for improvement of such systems with use of approach based on large grid of low cost field weather data collecting and supplemental nodes connected online. Our work is a part of the flood prediction on the net system FLOREON (supported by the regional government of Moravian -^sSilesian region) that is under construction on pilot area of Stonavka river, Czech Republic.
