Advanced Interface for Examining and Upgrading Complex Systems

Stakeholder involvement in software development plays a crucial role in a system's life cycle. This involvement is always a two-way road: on the one hand, stakeholders might be interested in summaries of certain system parts or functionalities; on the other hand, they want to know what would happen if some part of the system is changed and how to reconfigure system capabilities. Also, queries and their results should be expressed in a way understandable to stakeholders without computer expertise. These objectives currently present a challenge due to the absence of comprehensive tools that can generate queries and semantic summaries for requirements written in natural language. To ameliorate these problems we propose a set of new tools that builds upon our previous work on Complex Real-Time and Embedded Systems [1]. The tools combine the simplicity of an Internet search engine with the ability to produce comprehensive reports about system properties.
