What's Peculiar of Granular Materials?

These lectures will introduce the subject of granular materials. Unusual properties of granular materials will be compared to ordinary solid and fluid. Non-equilibrium nature of granular systems will be illustrated by experimental observations. Experimental and computational methods will be discussed. Theoretical approaches to understand the physics will be highlighted.
