MMFX_2 steel alloy is used for uncoated, corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel-reinforcing products that meet or exceed the mechanical properties of ASTM A615[1] Grades 75 and 80 ASTM A1035/A1035 M[2], and AASHTO Standard Specification MP 18M/MP 18. The MMFX_2 steel alloy has the unique combination of both high strength and corrosion-resistance that result from the combination of its chemical composition and manufacturing process. Since 2001, MMFX_2 rebar has been used in various public infrastructure and public/private development projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, Abu Dhabi –United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Bahamas, Mexico, and Canada. This paper will present the results of a microstructure phase characterization study performed on MMFX_2 steel using Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD).
