Design of hatch covers and lashing bridges of a 9250 TEU container carrier is studied. Focus has been on possible consequences to the hatch cover and lashing bridge structures caused by the increased ship size and hull deformations. Two different designs for hatch cover and lashing bridges are studied (MacGREGOR and SEOHAE Marine System). The interaction between hatch coaming top, lashing bridge and the hatch covers has been analysed. Operational aspects were also reviewed to find an efficient arrangement.
