A study on application analysis of submerged breakwaters is carried out to compare the reflection and transmission characteristics with other kinds of breakwaters in this paper. Several new major types of submerged breakwaters in the existing literature developed recent years are mentioned, and their advantage and weakness are analyzed. Specially, moored type and permeable submerged type are described in details. Under the affection of wave as main dynamic factor, interaction between three-dimensional non-breaking regular wave and submerged breakwaters is presented in mathematics method, and theoretical results obtained are compared with practical engineering. For the purpose of their application in practical engineering, stabilities and practicability are also considered. Moreover, the paper offers the problem generated by submerged structure that should be solved in engineering application. The main tendency and engineering expansion of submerged structures are also mentioned.
