In this paper six cyclic tests on steel and composite beam-to-column connections are described and the major experimental results are discussed. The tests have been conducted on two series of full-scale specimens: top and seat angle with web cleats connections and fully welded connections. Each series include 3 specimens: one bare steel beam-to-column connections; one composite beam-to-steel column connections; one composite beam-to-composite column connections. The connection specimens, designed according Eurocode 3 and 4, have been tested up to collapse under stepwise increasing amplitude cyclic loadings. The experimental results allow to assess the influence of the joint typology and details, of the concrete slab and of the column concrete encasement on the beam-column sub-assemblage response and failure mode.
