Three different graphite amounts (0, 0,4% and 1,5%wt. respectively) were added to a premix 90/10 bronze powder to produce three different bearings series. Bearings were impregnated with a fluorinated oil and then bench-tested on fans for domestic ovens. These run for 1400 hours: 2 hours on, at room temperature of 130°C and 1 hour off for free-cooling. In order to evaluate thermal stability of oil at very high temperature, it was made an evaporation test at 204°C. Static torque, rotating speed and noise level were also recorded during bench tests. Bearing surface was analyzed before and after bench tests in order to study the tribological behaviour and the influence of graphite on this property.
