This essay depicts the principles and characteristics of two different mixing systems of abrasive water jet as well as some issues in need of improvement; meanwhile, some representative technical approaches to the practical feeding devices are indicated. Based upon the above theoretical analysis, a set of newly designed experimental device in which the authors have been engaged is put forward, aiming to make a tentative study by applying abrasive water jet into underwater environment. This experimental study, in accordance with the application of theories on artificial submerged conditions, proves the feasibility of conducting experiments of simulating the real situation of deep water in the lab. In this experiment, the impinging features of abrasive water jet in simulated underwater high-pressure condition is further studied. Concrete blocks are chosen as samples, and the reasonableness of the experimental device has been verified by preliminary experiments.
