A novel air conditioning ejector system powered by solar energy is presented in this paper. The solar powered ejector cycle for air conditioning was designed to operate at a cosmetic factory in Mazunte, Oaxaca, an indigenous town in the Pacific Coast of Mexico. This system consists of a solar energy collection unit and an ejector cooling cycle. Solar evacuate heat pipe tubes were considered to run the 13 kW air conditioning system. A new hidro-fluoro-ether was considered the most suitable refrigerant for the system. A COP of .62 was estimated for the large-scale prototype.
