Three types of zeolites (laumontite, chabazite, and NaPl zeolites) were synthesized in our microwave experiments using NaOH solution to react with fly ash under different conditions of activation temperature, NaOH solution concentration and synthesis time. The conversion rate from fly ash to zeolites is about 15-40% Zeolites can be formed in about 15 min, and the best conversion rate be obtained in about 30 min. To guarantee the formation of crystalline nucleus and the growth of zeolite crystals, the solution/solid ratio should be more than 2.5.
