1. Glycerol and glucose are converted to surface bound CO over Pt/Al2O3 at room and elevated temperature. 2. CO can migrate between sites at the room temperature. 3. At slightly elevated temperatures, CO surface species are oxidized by the WGS reaction. 4. Bridging CO is more reactive than linear CO. 5. Glucose intermediates from the decomposition inhibit the formation of linear CO surface species more than glycerol intermediates.
