The HSECoE developed an approach that helps materials developers determine if their chemical hydrogen storage materials will meet the DOE Technical Targets by 2.1 Developing a generic system design that includes component mass and volume (including BOP) 2.2 Establishing ranges of chemical parameters anticipated to meet targets based on the generic system design 2.3 Building a system model that can evaluate the performance of a chemical hydrogen materials in an automotive application 2.4 Validating the system design and model with experimental work 3. Meeting all of the DOE Technical Targets will be extremely challenging
