The first C_(60)·TTF supramolecular architecture in which the donor (TTF) and the acceptor (C_(60)) units are connected through a complementary guanidinium-carboxylate ion-pair involving two hydrogen bonds in combination with ionic interaction are reported. Topologically different ensembles were prepared by varying the nature and composition of the spacer connecting TTF and C_(60) which has allowed to differentiate between through-bond and through-space electron transfer interactions. Cyclic voltammety shows The electrochemical data reveal the donor and acceptor character of the TTF and C60 units, respectively. However, preliminary photophysical data reveal a fluorescence quenching in the dyads which strongly depends on the solvent polarity. Based on the fluorescence quantum yields values determined for the different dyads endowed with different functional groups and spatial, a through-space mechanism is proposed.
