A New Device of Pitch Motion Reduction of Floating Structure

摘要

In this paper, a newly developed device to reduce pitch motion is introduced. This device, known as MSboard, consists of simple flat boards attached horizontally to the end of a main hull structure with a clearance gap between the boards and the structure. Development was carried out on the basis of model experiments and numerical calculations. This new device enables dramatic reduction in pitch motion in following and oblique waves, to a level of half or less.
