POST-TENSIONED CONCRETE FLOOR SYSTEMS IN AUSTRALIA

In Australia, post-tensioned concrete floor systems are now the preferred type of construction for many large buildings, for reasons of economy and superior performance. The authors review relevant current Australian code requirements, design methods and construction practices and illustrate some typical design details for post-tensioned floors. After considering anticipated building trends in Australia, the authors conclude that the use of post-tensioned concrete floor systems will continue to-increase.
