A Reflective Component-Based Framework for Adaptability Support for Mobile Agents

A crucial concern with distributed applications is indeed their adaptability to particular environment. Current mobile agent systems are less flexible and should address the needs for requirements of adaptation. In order to address the need for adaptability, middleware itself should be built according to a component-based architecture. Furthermore, the component-based middleware should be reflective to help facilitate and manage run-time changes in component configurations. Using reflective technologies on building middleware, it allows to facilitate and to manage run-time changes in environment by adapting core software and hardware mechanisms dynamically without the need for explicit control by applications or end-users. To support adaptability for mobile agents, we propose a reflective approach to a middleware framework based on the component technologies.
