A novel method to make a B-E-glass media has been explored in this paper. The performance of this media is compared to that of B-glass media with acrylic binder. Although the performance of the two media were about the same with regard to the quality factor, the exit air concentration is lower for the B-E-glass media compared to the B-glass-acrylic media. Another significant advantage is the ability of the B-E-glass media to maintain its hardness over longer periods of time. The B-E-glass media provides the filter industries an option in making filter media that do not require solvents to apply binder.
