Primary and Secondary Processes Performed on Thermoplastic Polyurethane Film and Sheet

Thermoplastic Polyurethane(TPU) raw material has been used in film/sheet applications since the 1960's. Since that time, it has found its way into numerous markets and thousands of applications. In most of these applications the TPU film/sheet is an integral part of a composite that is either the end product or is part of an end product. The excellent property matrix that only TPU film/sheet can provide allows it to be used in the most demanding applications. These applications not only need a film/sheet that provides excellent properties, they also need a film/sheet that provides a wide range of design flexibility options. TPU film/sheet provides this flexibility of design in these demanding applications. Whether it is fabricated into a composite with other materials or fabricated by itself into a part, TPU film/sheet may undergo many secondary processes. These processes include lamination, bonding/welding techniques, decorating techniques, thermoforming, and other less frequently used processes.
